Desire in a Tinier House

It only takes three seconds for Trevin and Carlos to lock eyes. But how many minutes, months, millennia will it take for them to remain in love in the middle of the woods – in the middle of an America determined to pull them apart? Can they truly keep the tiny house they’ve made for themselves forever? DESIRE IN A TINIER HOUSE is a world premiere,  genre-defying two-character drama that is both sensual and psychological.

DESIRE IN A TINIER HOUSE is a genre-defying two-character drama that examines the challenges of maintaining loving gay relationships amidst societal forces that attack such relationships: threats that range from personal forces like family and the workplace through global threats like the encroachment of technology on privacy, government suppression of individuality, and world war.

It  follows the relationship of two gay men in their ‘20s – the Argentine-American Trevin and the Brazilian-American Carlos – in scenes that progress from real to surreal, showing how their relationship changes first from moment to moment and eventually across millennia. With language both poetic and realistic, Oliveira’s script is sensual as well as psychological as it charts the evolving relationship between the bold and impulsive Trevin and the more cautious Carlos.
